I just can’t get enough of the Butterfly Gala stamp set, the ideas keep flowing and I just have to share with you another project idea.  I do I want to share with you a strategy of mine of how I decide which stamp sets to purchase.

As you know the catalogue 212 pages so how do I decide which stamp set to purchase and why.  It’s a little thing I like to call “5 Before You Buy”

Before I buy something I make sure I can think of five (5) ways of using it.  This way I can make sure I make wise choices plus it also helps me with my creativity.

A little Note - Butterfly Gala

Supplies:

  • Stamps – Butterfly Gala (148580)
  • Ink – Grapefruit Grove (147142), Daffodil Delight (147094), Memento Black Ink (132708)
  • PaperThick Whisper White (144238), Daffodil Delight (121680), Whisper White (106549),  Gingham Gala DSP (148554)
  • Other –Butterfly Duet Punch (148523), Stampin’ Dimensionals (104430), Whisper White Bakers Twine (124262), Gingham Gala Adhesive-Backed Sequins (148561)

Dimensions:

  • Daffodil Delight CS: 5-7/8″ x 8-1/4″
  • Whisper White CS: Scrap piece
  • Gingham Gala DSP:  1″ x 3-7/8″ (one of each colour)

Directions:

  1. Lay the Gingham Gala DSP pieces on the Thick Whisper White Card front, leaving equal borders in between each colour.  Adhere with adhesive.
  2. Using Grapefruit Grove ink stamp your greeting onto a scrap piece of Whisper White CS, trim the greeting and cut a flag on the left side.
  3. With Daffodil Delight Ink stamp a small butterfly image in onto Daffodil Delight CS.  Stamp the butterfly body using Black ink. Punch out with the duet butterfly punch.
  4. Create some messing string with Whisper White Bakers Twine, and adhere to card front using SNAIL adhesive
  5. Place your greeting over the top of messing string using stampin’ dimensionals.
  6. Place your butterfly and using it as a guide stamp the butterfly antennas using Black ink.  Adhere butterfly slightly off your greeting with both stampin dimensionals on the top right wing and liquid adhesive on the bottom left wing.
  7. Scatter some Gingham Gala Adhesive-Backed Sequins.  You’re Done!
