A Very Merry Christmas

I survived team challenge #1 (you can view the post here) and now I’m ready for the next challenge…so I thought.   Well this one was hard, I thought we were all starting slow, but Inky Ingrid one of our team members decided it was time for us to mix it up a bit with a game of tic tac toe.

The idea is to select 3 boxes either across, vertically or diagonally and create a project using those items in the 3 boxes.

tic tac toe

I selected the top row.  Punches, Ribbon and 2 or more patterned paper.  I cheated and only used 1 piece of pattern paper.

Many More Messages

Directions:

1. Fold the 21cm x 14.8cm piece of Crumb Cake CS in half, with a bone folder, creating a 14.8cm x 10.5cm card base. Set aside for a moment.

2. Center and stick the 14cm x 9.5cm piece of Be of Seasons of Style DP to the 9.2cm x 14.2cm piece of Early Espresso CS, using double sided adhesive.

3. Stick the 2.5cm x 14.2cm piece of Early Espresso CS to the matted DP, leaving equal borders on the top and bottom, using double sided adhesive.

4. Lay the 15cm piece of ⅞” Cotton ribbon over the 235cm x 14.2cm piece of Early Espresso CS. Wrap the ends of the ribbon around to the back of the CS and stick them down, using double sided adhesive.

5. Lay the 15cm piece of Pear Pizzazz ⅜” Taffeta ribbon over the piece of ⅞” Cotton ribbon. Wrap the ends of the ribbon around to the back of the CS and stick them down, using double sided adhesive.

6. Center and stick the matted  piece of Seasons of Style DP to the card base, using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

7. Stamp the greeting from More Merry Messages Stamp Set onto a scrap piece of Very Vanilla CS, using Early Espresso Classic ink.

8. Center the greeting in the window of a Wide Oval punch and punch it out.

9. Punch out a label from a scrap piece of Cherry Cobbler CS, using the Decorative Label punch.

10. Stick the punched out Cherry Cobbler CS label to a scrap piece of Early Espresso CS, using double sided adhesive.

11. Pierce around the Cherry Cobbler CS label, using a paper-piercing tool, Stampin’ Pierce Mat and Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack.

 12. Cut around the Cherry Cobbler CS label, leaving an equal border around the paper-piercing, using paper snips.

13. centre and stick the greeting oval to the matted Cherry Cobbler CS label, using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

14. centre and stick the matted greeting oval to the card base, directly over the ribbon, using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

15. Feed the 10cm piece of linen thread under the ribbon, on the left hand side of the card, and tie it into a knot. Trim off the ends as close to the knot as you can, using paper snips.

16. Tie the 30cm piece of ⅞” Cotton ribbon into a bow. Trim the ends on an angle, using Craft scissors.

17. Stick the bow to the card, directly over the linen thread knot, using hot glue.

18. Fold the 25cm piece of linen thread in half and in half again, so you have a thicker linen thread.

20. Feed the folded piece of linen thread through the button holes. Stick the ends of the linen thread to the back of the button, using a mini glue dot. Trim off any overhanging linen thread, using Craft scissors.

21. Stick the threaded button to the centre of the ⅞”Cotton ribbon bow, using hot glue. You’re done!

I would love to see what designs you can come up with using the challenge above.  Post a link in the comments to your project so I can have a look.
