Butterfly Birthday

I’ve participated in another challenge recently, called the “Hallmark Challenge”  you can read all about it HERE.  The card that was selected for us to Make over is this one here hallmark x 2.  I’ve taken the butterfly theme and used this as my inspiration for my card.  I’ve created the butterfly’s with bakers twine to give a 3D effect, and set my background for the outside.

Here’s the card I created

Remembering Your Birthday

DIRECTIONS

  1. A piece 8 2/8″ x 5 7/8″ Early Espresso Cardstock folded in half to create a 4 1/8″ x 5 7/8″ cardbase
  2. Take a 3 7/8″ x 5 3/4″ piece of Whisper White CS, and with the cloud template, sponge the sky with Tempting Turquoise Classic ink and a Stampin’ sponge, stop approx 1 3/4″ from the bottom (As shown in video)
  3. Sponge the grass on the bottom of your clouds with Pear Pizzaz Classic ink and Stampin’ Sponge
  4. Stamp your greeting on the bottom centre of the sponge Whisper White CS from Remembering Your Birthday Stamp Set, and Early Espresso Classic Ink
  5. working on the roll, wrap the Cherry Cobbler Bakers Twine around the tip of a fork, sixteen times. Feed a 4″ piece of Early Espresso Bakers Twine around the centre of the wrapped Cherry Cobbler.  Tie the two ends of the Early Espresso bakers twine into a knot, so that the knot is at the top of the wrapped bakers twine – creating antennas for the butterfly.  Slide the wrapped twine off the fork and trim the ends of the Cherry Cobbler bakers twine using fabric scissors.  Repeat creating two more butterflys from Tangarine Tango & Crushed Curry Bakers Twine from the Tag a Bag Accessory Kit
  6. Mat and centre you sponged sky to your Early Espresso Cardbase with Snail Adhesive
  7. Cut a number from scrap piece of Early Espresso CS using Typeset Alphabet Bigz die and Big Shot
  8. Centre your number you just die cut to the cardfront with stampin’ dimentionals
  9. With a glue gun stick your butterfly’s randomly to your card front.  You’re done!
