Canvas – Happy Birthday
Have you ever tried stamping on canvas? Well Stampin’ Up! introduced canvas in the latest annual catalogue, I’ve never used it and thought I should try and learn some new techniques.
Here’s how I created my card:
- Fold a 15 x 21cm piece of Crumb Cake CS in half to create a 10.5 x 15cm cardbase
- Cut a 10 x 7cm piece Modern Medley Designer Paper and sponge with Cajun Craze Classic ink and a stampin’ sponge set aside for a moment
- Cut a 10 x 9cm piece of canvas. Stamp the large flower from Peaceful Petals Stamp set with Versamark onto the canvas, stamp the small flower without the steam with versamark onto the canvas and also a couple of the leaves randomly on the canvas with versamark also
- cover your stamped canvas with White Embossing Powder and heat with a heat tool until set
- With a sponge dauber and Daffodil Delight Classic ink (lightest colour) colour the centre of both flowers in a circular motion give the dept you like so you can see the embossing coming through the colour
- With Tangerine Tango Classic Ink and a sponge dauber, sponge in a circular motion from where you finished the Daffodil Delight and spong the remaining petals of the flowers and a beyond
- With Cajun Craze Classic ink and a sponge dauber fill in the missing parts until the whole canvas in now covered, you may want to go back over it with both the Tangerine Tango and Daffodil Delight Classic ink also
- Stick the piece of Modern Medley Designer Paper to the bottom of the crumb cake card base leaving equal borders with snail adhesive
- Stick the canvas above leaving equal boarders across the top and side with Sticky Strip, the canvas will overlap the designer paper slightly
- Stamp your greeting from Remembering your Birthday stamp set onto a 2.5 x 11cm piece of Very Vanilla CS, cut the ends into a banner and stick to the centre of the card front covering the place where the canvas and designer paper meet with sticky strip
- Tie a piece of linen Thread into a bow and stick to your tag on the left side with a glue dot
- Create flowers with Simply Clay and Tangerine Tango Classic ink refill, let dry and adhere over the line thread bow with a glue gun.
- Embellish your card with basic pearls. You’re Done!
