Gradient Sponged Background
Gradient Sponged Background
Well… I had lost my crafty mojo. To get it back, I decided to dive in and make a lot of different cards using the same technique, Gradient Sponged Background and embossing folders and it worked!
I don’t normally make a lot of cards at once but I got carried away. It was kinda of my “healing” from a long struggle of not creating much. I feel so much better! I hope these cards show you that you can take products you have and put them to good use to make a bunch of cards… all with a simple card design.
I have details on what products I used on each card below. On all of my cards I used the super-cool Hexagons Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.
OK, here the colours I used on each card:
Love Card: Melon Mambo, Rose Red, Rich Razzleberry
Congrats Card: Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight
Happy Card: Night of Navy, Dapper Denim, Island Indigo
Hello Card: Cucumber Crush, Bermuda Bay, Island Indigo
Tricks & Tips
- Use washi tape or painters tape to get the nice even border around your project
- If your tape is too sticky wipe your embossing buddy over it to make it less tacky
- Start sponging off the cardstock and gradually apply colour in a circular motion
