Happy Birthday to a Special 3 Year Old

Happy Birthday to a Special 3 Year Old

This past week our little girl Bianca, turned three (3).  She has brought so much joy to our lives, and after trying for many years to start a family we will finally blessed with our only child Bianca. Although it has taken me many years to come to the grip that our family will no longer grow, but I have in turn learnt to be grateful for the wonderful daughter I do have and how she has blessed our lives.

Amongst all the winging and tantrums that are normal toddler would display, Bianca is has a gentle, kind, natured heart.  You will hear her often say “Are you OK Mummy?” which I reply “Yes, are you OK?”  She is so happy, and loves to sing, dance and play outside.

Her favourite things is Minnie Mouse and Bows.  She loves Minnie Mouse so much that she has just about everything Minnie Mouse you can think of, including her Bedroom suite, toys, dolls, bags, clothes, even her underwear.  You will often find her dressed as Minnie with a cute Bow in her hair.

For her Birthday cake this year, I wanted to recreate Minnie’s Red Bow and create cake toppers.  But, sadly I noticed there was no Red with White Polka dot patterned paper available in the current 2017 – 2018 Annual Catalogue. So I decided to create my own.

STEP 1: – to create the polka dots, I used the eraser end of a pencil and inked it in Versamark ink and randomly placed the polka dots onto a scrap piece of Whisper White Cardstock

STEP 2: Apply Clear Embossing powder and heat set with a Heat Gun

STEP 3: Using the Direct to paper technique, take your Real Red Ink pad and drag it across the Cardstock.  Once you have a good coverage of ink, wipe excess ink off with a Tissue and the dots will pop

Using my Bow Builder punch I was able to create little bows to use a cake toppers for Bianca’s Birthday Cake

Why not create your own patterned paper for your next project.
