Welcome to week 2 of my Christmas Project Tutorial Blitz.  This weeks card is using some of the Christmas carryover items from last years catalogue.  This card is quick and simple and easy to reproduce in multiples if required.

Supplies used for this project:

  • Stamps: Ornament Keepsakes
  • Ink: Cherry Cobbler Classic Ink
  • Paper: Cherry Cobbler CS, Whisper White CS, Epic Day This and That Designer Paper
  • Accessories:  Stampin' Dimentionals, Basic Rhinestones, Big Shot, bone folder, Typeset Alphabet Bigz die, 3/4" Circle Punch, Square Lattice Embossing Folder, Holiday Ornament Framelits, Cherry Cobbler Bakers Twine, SNAIL Adhesive, Glue Dots, Magnetic Platform, Piecing tool
  • Other: Scotch Tape

Dimensions:

  • Cherry Cobbler CS: 15cm x 21cm (5 7/8" x 8 1/4") and scrap piece
  • Epic Day This and That DP:  14.3cm x 9.8cm (5 5/8" x 3 7/8")
  • Whisper White CS:  scrap piece
  • Cherry Cobbler Bakers Twine: 12.7cm piece and 25.4cm  (5" piece and 10" piece)

 

Step-by-Step Directions

Step 1: Fold the Cherry Cobbler CS in half, with a bone folder creating a card base. Set aside for a moment.

Step 2: Die cut the letter J and letter Y from a scrap piece of Cherry Cobbler CS using the Typeset Alphabet Bigz Die and Big Shot.  Emboss the letter J and letter Y, using the square lattice Embossing Folder and the big shot

Step 3: Stamp two of the small circular ornament onto a scrap piece of Whisper White CS, using Cherry Cobbler Classic Ink.

Step 3: Lay the circular ornament die over one of the stamped ornament images with the Holiday Ornament Framelit dies and Magnetic platform and run it through the Big Shot. Punch out the center of the second stamped ornament image using 3/4" Circle punch.

Step 4: Stick the punch out ornament center to the die cut ornament using stampin' dimentionals.  Stick a medium rhinestone to the center of the ornament. This ornament will be used as the letter "O" in the word "JOY"

Step 5: Position the letters and the die cut ornament in the bottom right hand corner of the Epic This and That DP, spelling out the word "JOY". Stick the J and Y letters to the piece of Epic This and That DP. Using Stampin' Dimensionals

Step 6: Punch a hole into the top of the ornament using your piecing tool, feed one end of the 12.7cm (5") bakers twine through the hole in the top of the ornament.  Stick the end of the bakers twine to the back of the ornament using tape.

Step 7: Stick the ornament to the Epic This and That DP with SNAIL Adhesive.  Wrap the other end of the Cherry Bakers twine to the back of the Epic This and That DP with tape.

Step 8: Center and stick the Epic This and That DP to the Cherry Cobbler Card base using SNAIL Adhesive.  Tie a 24.7cm (10") piece Cherry Cobbler Bakers Twine into a bow.  Stick the bow to the top of the ornament with a mini glue dot.  You're Done!
