Make It Monday #7: Petal Garden Designer Series Paper

Vellum is a beautiful, versatile and fragile type of paper that can add uniqueness to any project. There are lots of ways to use vellum and today I’m going to share with you just one idea.

I love the  Petal Garden DSP, but I find that it is bright and vibrant, and I sometimes struggle to use it.  So I’ve challenged myself to use it.

I’ve started by selecting different patterns from the Petal Garden DSP, the flowers seemed to be to vibrant and bright for me and took away from the greeting which was my main focus on this card. So I placed a piece of Vellum the same size as the floral piece to soften it a bit.

I stamped my greeting from Thankful Thoughts stamp set and cut it out using the Layering Circle Framelits.

Supplies:

• Stamps – Thankful Thoughts
• Ink –Memento Black Ink
• Paper – Rich Razzleberry CS, Whisper White CS, Vellum
• Other – Double Sided adhesive, Paper snips, Layering Circle Dies, Big Shot, Basic Rhinestones

Dimensions:

• Rich Razzleberry CS – 9” x 4-1/2” (scored at 4-1/2” to create a 4-1/2” x 4-1/2” cardbase)
• Whisper White CS – scrap piece
• Petal Garden DSP – small circle piece 4-3/8” x 4-3/8”, Large floral piece 4”x 4”, small floral piece – scrap piece
• Vellum – 4” x 4”

Directions:

1. Stamp your greeting onto a scrap piece of Whisper White CS. Die cut using the layering Circle framelits and Big Shot
2. Adhere the 4” x 4” large floral piece to the 4-3/8” x 4-3/8” small circle piece leaving equal boarders around all four sides
3. Place vellum over the top of 4” x 4” large floral piece, adhere the die cut greeting to the bottom right.
4. Place adhesive behind the greeting piece and stick the vellum over the 4” x 4” large floral piece.
5. Fussy cut a set of small flowers from the small floral piece of DSP, and adhere to the greeting as shown above
6. Adhere scattering Rhinestones. You’re done!
