Ornament Keepsakes Embossed Christmas Card
Do you like a challenge? I do! Recently we’ve started doing monthly team challenges. Challenges are a great way to use some of the product you wouldn’t normally. I’ve had heaps of fun doing these challenges and I will be sharing them with you over the next coming weeks. Our first challenge was a layout challenge.
Being the first challenge can be hard, and I struggled trying to figure out what I would do. As this challenge was provided back in November I decide to do a Christmas theme card. I quite happy how it turned out.
Directions:
- Take a 5cm x 14.8cm piece of Cherry Cobbler CS and temporarily stick it to your grid paper using Dotto adhesive. Run an embossing buddy over the CS.
- Ink up the small ornament from Ornament Keepsakes Stamp Set using your Encore Metallic Gold ink pad. Randomly stamp the image along the 5cm x 14.8cm piece of Cherry Cobbler CS.
- Ink up the star image from Warmth & Wonder (HOSTESS SET) from the Holiday Catalogue using your Encore Metallic Gold ink pad. Randomly stamp the image in the gaps along the stamped 5cm x 14.8cm piece of Cherry Cobbler CS.
- Sprinkle gold embossing powder onto the image and tap off the excess. Heat with a heat tool.
- Take a 4.5cm x 14.8cm piece of Brushed Gold CS and scallop one 14.8cm side using the Scallop Edge punch. Punch a small hole in each scallop using a piercing tool.
- Stick the stamped and embossed Cherry Cobbler CS strip onto the scalloped gold CS strip, making sure to leave about a 1.5cm scalloped border showing.
- Lay a 20cm piece of Cherry Cobbler seam binding ribbon along the left edge of the Cherry Cobbler CS strip – align the edge of the ribbon with the edge of the CS. Bring the ends of the ribbon around to the back of the CS and stick them down using Snail adhesive. Set aside for a moment.
- Center and stick a 10cm x 14.3cm piece of Whisper White CS to a 14.8cm x 10.5cm Cherry Cobbler card front (created by taking 21cm x 14.8cm piece of Cherry Cobbler CS and folding it in half).
- Stick the Cherry Cobbler CS strip from step 6 onto the card front, about a 7mm in from the left edge of the Whisper White CS.
- Stamp the greeting from Many More Messages stamp set onto a piece of Whisper White CS using Black Stazon Ink. Punch it out with a Modern Label punch and sponge the edges with Cherry Cobbler Classic ink and a wedge of Stamping Sponge.
- Punch out another Modern Label Punch pies from a scrap of Brushed Gold CS, cut in half length ways. Place on piece of the Brush Gold CS to the Whisper White greeting to the back so that a part of the Brushed Gold CS is showing. Do the same for the bottom of the greeting
- Stick the matted greeting onto the card front using two Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Take a 15cm piece of Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding Ribbon and tie it in a knot around the first piece. You’re done!
I hope you enjoyed this tutorial. Be sure to check back a bit later because I wanted to share with you my upcoming Stampin’ Class material.
