Putting up the Christmas Tree

We were going back home to visit family for Christmas and would be away for most of December and January.  So I thought why put up a Christmas Tree?  But at the same time, it’s Christmas and you can’t get into the Christmas Spirit without the Christmas Tree.

This year would also be the first Christmas that Bianca would be old enough to enjoy and participate, so I wanted her to experience putting up the tree and decorating it but at the same time I I also didn’t want Bianca pulling on the tree decorations and breaking them.  A friend suggested I make her a felt Christmas Tree.  This was so easy to make and Bianca had fun helping me do it also.

I created the base from Green Felt, folded it in half and draw the outline in tailors chalk then cut it out, and stuck it using Velcro dots to Bianca’s Bedroom Door

Next I bought a couple of sheets of different colours of Felt to use for the decorations that I purchased from a local Lincraft store

Then came the fun part –  I used the Layering Circle Die, Star Framelits and Delicate Ornament thinlit dies and Big Shot machine to create all the decorations.  Bianca insisted in helping use the Big Shot by cranking the handle.  She did a great job.

Once they were all cut out we could put them on our Christmas Tree.  Bianca has fun each day redecorating the tree and I have piece of mind that nothing will get broken.
