Sending Wishes – Swiped Background Technique
I’m always looking for new ways to use my stamping products with new and different ways to use some old, new and loved techniques. Today I’m going to share with you a way to take a technique and use it in a simple fashion. Let’s go!
Techniques are often thought of as being too time-consuming, but techniques can also be FUN and give us a chance to be extra creative. The key is to keep the technique “simple” using a few tricks:
- Balance fun techniques with a good amount of white-space on a card.
- Look for a simpler/faster way to achieve the look of a technique with less effort
- Use a technique on several cards at once. You have a supplies out and ready so you might as well!
I first wanted to share with you a fun inking technique I call “swiping background technique“… using Stampin’ Up! classic ink pads.
Inking Techniques
For this card I’ve chosen 1 colour of ink (Blushing Bride) Hold your ink pad at a 45 degree angle and starting at the top of the cardstock piece, beginning off the edge of the cardstock, swipe the ink pad across the cardstock piece in a wave-type motion, finishing off of the CS piece. Repeat, coming back in the opposite direction and continue until you reach the bottom of the cardstock
Next turn your cardstock piece 90 degrees, and then lightly drag the ink pad across the cardstock, once again starting off the cardstock and finishing off the cardstock at the other end. Continue throughout the entire length of the cardstock, until you’ve filled in the white space as much as desired.
Watch video below on how this technique was done
Pull out your ink pads and give this technique a try, you will be surprised at how easy it is to achieve great results every time.
