Simple Masculine Birthday Card

Simple Masculine Birthday Card

I won’t lie, making masculine cards scare me, I always seem to struggle with how and what to create.  That’s why this week I decided to set myself a challenge.  Setting a challenge lets me stretch my creativity to another level, and think outside the box.  As I shared during my Facebook Live today my challenge today was   1. Create a card using a stamp set that I hadn’t used before and 2.  Create a masculine themed card.

Supplies:

  • Stamps – Lemon Zest, Hardwood Background Stamp
  • Ink – Pumpkin Pie, Granny Apple Green, Crumb Cake Classic Ink, Memento Black Ink
  • PaperCrumb Cake, Whisper White CS
  • OtherLemon Builder Punch, 1-3/4″ Circle Punch, Linen Thread

Dimensions:

  • Crumb Cake  CS – 8-1/4” x 5-7/8” (21 x 15cm) scored and fold at 4-1/8” (10.5cm) to create a cardbase
  • Crumb Cake CS – 5-1/2″ x 3-3/4″  and a scrap piece
  • Whisper White – Scrap piece

Directions:

  1. Stamp the Hardwood Background image in Crumb Cake Ink onto 5-1/2″ x 3-3/4″ piece Crumb Cake CS.
  2. Wrap the linen thread twice around the stamped CS and tie a bow
  3. Stamp two orange images in Pumpkin Pie ink onto Whisper White CS.  Punch the oranges using the 1-34/” Circle Punch.  Cut one of the orange images in half.
  4. Stamp three leaf images in Granny Smith Apple Ink on Whisper White CS; punch them out using the Lemon Builder Punch.
  5. Adhere the orange images to the Stamped Crumb Cake CS using Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Adhere two of the leaves slightly under the oranges.  Adhere the third leaf using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  6. Stamp the sentiment in Black Memento Ink on a seperate piece of Crumb Cake CS.  Cut out the sentiment and adhere it below the oranges using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  7. Adhere the entire Crumb Cake piece to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
