Soft Watercolour Wash
Soft Watercolour Wash
I think one of the prettiest card designs is a simple one with a Soft Watercolour Wash background. Today, I will show how to create just such a background using watercolour pencils… and not have any pencil lines showing in my colour wash. I will also show how to add some fun with watercolour splatter.
Tricks & Tips
- By using similar shades in the same colour family, you can create a delicate, blended background. Or opt for contrasting shades to make a bold statement! Think back to the colour wheel to help you create just the right look for your watercolour card.
- When sharpening a watercolour pencil, save the shavings to create a custom watercolour palette. Just add a few drops of water and mix to “melt down” the shavings. You can pick up an empty palette at an art supply or large craft store.
