Stepping it Up with Eastern Beauty
The #1 thing that I hear, over and over again is this:
“I am not creative”, “I am not artistic”, “I can’t come up with my own ideas”, “I don’t know how to take an idea and make it my own”. I recently wrote a blog post about it, “The Myth of Creativity” you can read it HERE.
Today’s project I’m sharing with you just how easy it is to begin card making with 3 ways to create a clean and simple card with limited supplies and then stepping it up to use more supplies.
My colour combination I have chosen to use today is Lemon Lime Twist, Berry Burst and Tranquil Tide.
My first card today is for the beginner stamper. Start small and begin from there. Complete your works of art with just stamps, ink and paper in any amazing colour combinations.
I started with a piece Thick Whisper White Cardstock cut in half to create a cardbase. I stamped the largest circle image from Eastern Beauty Stamp set towards the top third of my card base using Lemon Lime Twist Ink. Next I stamped the medium circle image in Berry Burst ink inside my largest circle, and finally stamped the greeting using Tranquil Tide Ink.
My second card we’re building on from our first design but this time, we’re adding some coordinating tools such as punches for ease, convenience and dimension. This is a great card for the casual crafter who has a few additional supplies and wanting to grow their collection of stamping tools.
My cardbase is created from Berry Burst Cardstock. This time I stamped the medium circle using Berry Burst ink onto a scrap piece of Whisper White CS and punched it out using the 2″ circle punch. Next I stamped my greeting onto a scrap piece of Whisper White Cardstock and punched it out using the 1-3/4″ circle punch, and adhered my greeting to the Berry Burst circle piece. Finally I adhere my matted greeting to a 2-1/4″ circle of Lemon Lime Twist CS.
I’ve cut a 1-1/2″ x 4-1/8″ piece of Gingham Gala DSP and adhere that towards the top of my cardbase. I adhered my matted greeting to my card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
My final card I’ve gone the distance with a full fusion of stamps, ink, paper, tools, des and embellishments. Expand your creative options to new possibilities.
I’ve gone with the same design as my previous project, but this time before adding my greeting, I’ve die cut a circle out using the coordinating dies Eastern Medallions Thinlits. Added a bit of gold sequins ribbon to the back of my greeting and Stamped “friends” onto a scrap piece of Whisper White CS using versamark ink and heat embossed in gold embossing powder.
