We’re half way through Sale-a-Bration 2019, and you are loving the free SAB items this year. What has been your favourite so far? Today, I thought we would create a clean and simple project featuring Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper (DSP) that you can earn free with a $90 purchase in this years SAB catalogue.
This pattern gives you so many options, here are a few ideas
- leave it plain (no colour)
- watercolour
- cut the butterfly’s out
- colour with Stampin’ Blends
- Sponge colour onto the butterfly
- fussy cut them out
- punch them out with the Butterfly Duet punch
For today’s project we’re sponging colour onto our butterfly and then punching them out using the Butterfly Duet Punch.
Supplies:
- Stamps – All Things Thanks
- Ink – Early Espresso Classic Ink
- Paper – Powder Pink, Early Espresso, Whisper White, Botanical Butterfly DSP
- Other – Butterfly Duet Punch, Stampin’ Sponges
Dimensions:
- Powder Pink CS – 8-1/4” x 5-7/8” (21 x 15cm) scored and fold at 4-1/8” (10.5cm) to create a cardbase
- Early Espresso CS – 5-5/8″ x 3-7/8″
- Whisper White CS – 5-1/2″ x 3-3/4″
Directions:
- Colour 2 x butterfly images from DSP pack with Powdered Pink Ink and Stampin’ Sponge. Punch image with Butterfly Duet Punch
- Stamp your greeting approx 1/2″ – 3/4″ up from the center of White CS using Early Espresso Ink
- Adhere your 2 x Butterfly images together with adhesive just down the center of the butterfly. Adhere to card front above greeting. You’re done!

Tricks & Tips
- If you don’t have Butterfly Duet Punch, use a pair of paper snips and fussy cut them out
