Die cutting is perfect for clean and simple designs, thanks to the crisp, clean lines this cutting method offers. Also, there are many eye-catching techniques you can do with little effort, thanks to die cutting.
Today’s card is bold and so very creative! In this video I will shares tips on creating a repeated design to make a clean and simple design.
Tips & Tricks to Note
- When using a bold, clear stamp, place a piece of craft foam under your cardstock to provide just a little bit of give to your stamping surface. This will help you achieve a crisp, clear image.
- To ensure that you don’t have any lint or dust on your stamp that could mar your stamped image, stamp the image a few times on scrap cardstock before moving on to your card.
Directions
- Tape the Square Framelits dies together with washi tape to create a nested frame. Turn frame on an angle (diamond shape facing you) and measure 1″ from the center of the frame on either side. Place one piece of washi tape on each side of the die at 1″ mark to help you position your cardstock with the die. You should have 2″ between tape pieces
- Cut various colours of cardstock at 2″ wide strips. and position between the tape guides on the nested dies. Secure each using washi tape.
- Die cut cardstock using dies and big shot. Remove die cut pieces from the die. Repeat until all colours have been cut
- Arrange multi-colour chevrons on a large strip of washi tape (sticky side up) You will want to put the pretty side down onto the tape. Set aside
- Fold your piece 21 x 15cm piece of Whisper White CS in half to create a card base (15 x 10.5cm)
- Stamp your greeting in the bottom left hand corner using stazon black ink
- Apply stampin’ dimentionals to each chevron. Turn the sticky strip over (sticky side down) and adhere chevron down.
- Remove washi tape. You’re Done!
