Vibrant Watercolour Wash Background
Vibrant Watercolour Wash Background
For me, creating bold, vibrant watercolour backgrounds is a time-saver! I find that when I have an awesome background, I can keep the rest of the card simple.
I was inspired by the colour combinations on this project HERE by Andrea Walford, go check out her work it’s amazing.
The colours I’ve used in today’s project, Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie and Daffodil Delight.
I’ve added texture by using the new Hexagons Dynamic Texture Impressions Embossing Folder, and just stamped my greeting from Suite Sayings Stamp set onto a scrap piece of Whisper White cardstock and cut it out using the Stitched Framelits
Tips & Techniques
- Watercolouring is the opposite of stamping… with stamping you want everything to be crisp and precise, but with watercolors you want each image and colour to flow into the next.
- Tape your watercolour paper down to something solid, I use a small clipboard, but chipboard from the backing of patterned paper, or to your grid paper on your desk will work also.
- If you ever feel your paper is getting too dry to let you work with the colours easily, brush over the paper with a damp brush or lightly spritz the paper with water using a spritzer.
