Weekend Challenge: Use Those Scraps

Weekend Challenge: Use Those Scraps

Getting over the blank-page hurdle is often the hardest part of being creative. By participating in the Weekend Challenge you will exercise your “getting started” brain power. With every challenge, you will stretch your thinking and hopefully learn to find unexpected inspiration in the world around you.

Each week, on Friday, I will post a weekly weekend challenge in our Facebook Group (Click HERE to Join)  – this could be a Clean & Simple Challenge, Try a new technique, Colour combination, Card Sketch or a new way to use current stamping tools

How it Works

– A new challenge will be posted every Friday afternoon in our Facebook Group (approx. 2pm). There is no time limit; this is not a contest and no prizes will be awarded. However, you maybe featured on my blog (with your permission of course)

– This challenge is all about fun. I will give no criticism about how you interpreted the inspiration piece (actually I like the long stretches because it helps demonstrate that you can get just the ‘kick’ you need from anything around you even if it ends up totally different than how you expected).

– Upload your card to the weekly challenge thread in our facebook group for all to see, feel free to comment and like others projects

Here’s my project this week

Birthday Blooms, You've Got This

For today’s project I’ve used all my scraps, I has so many off cuts of coloured cardstock, and this challenge provided an opportunity for me to use them.  I love the rainbow look.  Stampin’ Up! make it so easy on page 183 on the Annual Catalogue, a colour key has been provided.  This made it super easy to decide which colour goes in what order.

Birthday Blooms, You've Got This

I’ve used the Birthday Blooms stamp set in Versamark ink n the rainbow panel.  I love how the colour just pops.  Versarmark was also used on my greeting and heat embossed with White Embossing Powder.

Now it’s Your Turn

I need an easy challenge this week and my stampin desk sure could use some cleaning so….this week’s challenge is to find ways to use up your SCRAPS. For this challenge you are allowed to use one half sheet of cardstock and the rest of your cardstock (and ribbon if you desire) should come from you scrap pile. I used to do this a lot and sometimes it would help me come up with creative colour combos or designs. Once I got a really great colour combo just by dropping my scrap bag and the first few pieces that fell out looked really cool together…now if I could just remember what it was. Also if you have any neat ideas for storing your scraps or what you do with them, be sure to post your ideas to share with us. in our facebook group HERE

Please remember to put WC02 in your keywords section and post a link to this thread. As always, there are no time limits and feel free to add some tips or techniques in this thread as well. Also feel free to post as many cards as you wish and feel free to keep posting even after this week is done…no limits.
